Become a qualified Australian Sailing Instructor!
The Instructor Development Program (IDP) is a hands-on training pathway that takes young sailors and develops them into confident,qualified Australian Sailing Instructors. The program builds leadership, teamwork, and communication skills, preparing participants for exciting career opportunities in the marine and sailing industries- opportunities that can take them around the world! Shifts are normally 3-4hrs.Intakes are once per year with applications open in October-December annually.
Pre-Season Commitments: At the start of each season, the Darwin Sailing Club Training Academy hosts mandatory workshops and training sessions for all instructors and assistant instructors. These sessions are essential for team-building, refreshing skills, and ensuring everyone is prepared for the upcoming season. **Attendance is mandatory for both returning and new instructors as we cover key training, safety procedures, and expectations for the season ahead**
